Following into the family tradition, I am 4th generation 'Burgess' to work with flowers.Great grandparents, grandparents and my father were flower growers est. 1918 and then I came along and became involved in the floristry side. I did my first few years at Taraden florist for the Dennis family way back in 1980.I think Ian Dennis was one of the Interflora directors at that stage. We never had the opportunity to go to a TAFE or florist school back then, but were very well equipped never the less with a mentor assigned to each junior.I completed my bridal course with Gregory Milner in 1981 at Kew and competed in my first Interflora junior bridal comp. in the same year. I have for the last 9 years been doing corporate flowers only and enjoy being out and about opposed to working in a shop full time. I live in the Dandenong Ranges and am constantly inspired by my surroundings.
