Is it not time the Real Florists of Australia took ACTION to defend their dream, their livlihood, their Florist Industry, their Customers and the goodwill messages of our precious flowers?
Should not the Real Florist be responsible in bringing 'peace of mind' to their Local Communities and the Enviroment in which they live?
Should we not know the ocassion and the customer we are creating the arrangement of flowers for?
Can any Real Florist explain why the morale is so low in the Australian Florist Shop, once a pleasure to visit just for a friendly chat and listen to the Flowers?
A lady rang from the City of Redcliffe Qld to our neighbouring Suburb to have a sympathy tribute delivered to a Funeral Service in Redcliffe. We assured her that we would be pleased to be of service to her and thanked her for ringing.
A surprised "Oh!" was her reply. "I have rung six Florists claiming delivery to Redcliffe listed on the Internet. The last one being in Melbourne who held me on the phone for 20 minutes. I wanted to get a pillow wreath for a very dear friends funeral. I hung up on them." She told me.
I will not name and shame the "cowboy" non-florist, but if this is the standard of service being offered on behalf of the Local Real Florist then, Australian Florists, you are in deep trouble.
We offered her our condolences, supplied her request, delivered the pillow in time for the church service and were contacted the next day by the lady to say, in a deep emotional voice, "Thank you!". She added," the Funeral Director asked as to who made the pillow?"

Please can we boost the morale within the Real Florists Industry by co-operation, support and consideration for your fellow colleages and care for the people of Australia who desperately need FLOWERS and PEACE OF MIND. Together, we can take ACTION.

Florists, What would your response be to the lady's story?  Lets have some comments.
Cheers from the Wise Old Owl at eFlowersAlive..............Ron
