In Adelaide a part from the Certificates and Apprenticeships/Traineeships etc
There are Adult Education 8 wk Short Course Modules within Tafe that make it easy to combine work/study/family when trying to study Floristry. And its quite affordable and at the end of the 4 modules you can sit for an exam and it contributes to a Recognition Pathway towards the nationally accredited Certificate II in Floristry within Tafe.
Fundementals in Floristry is the basics then it leads on to more modules under Intermediate, then Advanced.
I found these short courses far more flexible as they had the option of doing night classes and I could pick what modules I wanted to do and when I wanted to do them to fit my lifestyle at the time. The classes were filled with those who either already own their own shops, casual assistants that worked in shops and hobbyists who may or may not want to go on to get the RPL accreditation.
As a mum with a special needs child at the time, trying to juggle part time work and wanting to further persue my love of flowers and floral arranging to hopefully one day be fully qualified, this was the best way for me to study after having done the so called "diploma" correspondence course that in the end was not even recognised.
As for other Courses and Workshops in SA there is also weekend workshops at the local WEA for the very new beginners, hobbyists, people who want to make their own wedding flowers etc. In the early days I did attend some of these workshops and found it very basic and perhaps I had higher expectations but the lecturers at the time did not seem to be interested in teaching at all . Might have changed a bit now.
I know of one Private School here in Adelaide that I believe is nationally recognised. Can never remember the name of it!
And I have seen some florists advertise in our local papers short courses in their shops for enthusiasts but they are not recognised and some were very expensive but I suspect that did include all sundreis & fresh flowers.
And then there are the individual Floral Societies, Floral Art Clubs, Floral Design Clubs in SA. Here is a link for quite an extensive list of whats around in SA.

Also from time to time visiting workshops such as the Western Australian Flowers Design Schools visit Australian States including SA for weekend refresher workshops for those in the industry. There is one coming up in August. The link is

I think that about covers it for whats around for courses, classes, workshops etc in Adelaide that I know of. Love to hear if I have missed some.
