katherine	I was reading on a web page about a Floristry Diploma. I did not see this advertised anywhere else and was wondering what the standard is like. Is it recoginised by the Aus Floristry Industry? Kath

Greg	Dear Kath, There is no recognised Diploma in Floristry in Australia. The highest recognised certificate is Certificate IV in Floristry (WRF40104) If you are looking for a course make sure it is offered by a Registered Training Organisation. Please refer to the NTIS web site. Ntis.gov.au Greg

Sonaya	Unfortunately I was one who found out the hard way that a particular Floristry Diploma I did was not recognised. As a hobbyist who wanted to take it further and get some "qualifications" under my belt, the part time option of doing it from home was perfect for me at the time. It was really hard to do any full time study or get to a tafe class and I just didnt have the funds so I saw this course would be perfect. Whilst the many pages of theory and information was quite extensive and they sent you everything you needed for the individual sections via post to do each module. It covered the classics, contemporary, funeral, wedding and even quite a large portion of information on starting up your own business. The volume of information as I said was quite extensive but I found the lack of support was very disapointing. So whilst I realise now that I spent just over a year doing something that I love and still learning lots, and I got a certificate at the end to say I completed this Diploma, it is not recognised officially. Lesson learned.

AROMASCENTS	Yes i was one too that did this. Thinking the course i did back in 1983 was a Diploma as well, this is what was told to me, i think very mislead and this is wrong. Im sure we arent the only ones misslead, this has stopped my opportunties in many ways over the years. Now its 2008 and im doing it right and getting my proper and professional training at Marjorie Milner College, currently studying Certificate 11. This is a fantastic College, very informative, professional and lots and lots of fun, very friendly . This time i have done it right, hoping that this will lead me into a long career.
