This heading appeared in the Local Rag. Quote, Eviromentally sustainable weddings are increasing in popularity. Industry insiders say couples are more open than ever before on green options for their big day. Especially because they are starting to incorpotate (sustainability) into their daily lives and you can see that its starting to unfold in the wedding market.
A Wedding photographer has launched a website to cater to the growing number of enviromentally concerned couples. "I know from experience that when presented with the opportunities to do things in a more sustainable way, they usually take it enthusiastically" The website, www.green4life.com.au provides contacts and resources for couples looking for greener options. In running the photogaraphy business the photographer offsets the carbon emissions produced by the car, publishes her pictures on recycled inkjet paper and calls on a local framer and bookbinder for albums.
Says the photographer, the hardest thing to source has been enviromentally friendly florists.
It's a minefield because a lot of the flowers that people want, if they can't get locally, they're flown in.
Wonder how the ink, recycled paper, the frames and the bookbinders toxic glue is delivered?
Florists are the most enviromentally sustainable people there are. By growing flowers CO2 is cobbled up by the tons. Small young plants need more CO2 than the large trees so in fact, the more flowers we share with our customers, the more flowers we get into their homes, the better for the enviroment. In fact if we did not have flowers in our life, we need not have to worry about climate change, as we would be dead. FLOWERS BEGIN THE HEALING PROCESS OF BODY MIND AND SOUL and is symbolic of a NEW LIFE. What better place to have flowers than at a wedding, THE BEGINNING OF A NEW LIFE TOGETHER.
Come on florists, promote flowers for what they really are......................cheers...........Ron .......EflowersAlive
