Hi to all. I have been a florist for about 20 years. I am currently not working at the moment as I have chosen to be a full time
stay at home mum. I live in a country town of NSW and I have recently been asked if I was interested in some part time work
It would only be 3 hours on a Thursday and I would be needed to do wedding flowers and busy times, mothers day etc.
I know this would be a cash in hand situation, and the rate she has offered me is about $17 an hour. Is this a reasonable rate?
Any information would be much appreciated.

Around 5 years ago I was getting paid just over $17 an hour.... I am sure the current rate would be slightly higher.
Hope this helps :)

I pay my staff $20.44, which I called IR to make sure.

it really depends -  if you are getting cash in hand as you say - that is you are paying no tax & not declaring this income then I suppose $ 17 is good!

Consider asking her for something a littel higher if this is not the rate you are hoping for.
