It's a smart strategy, given the way Google ranks pages in its search engines. It ranks them based on how many other pages link back to any given page that has the search term you used. Some companies set up hundreds of pages all with the same data in it and link back to their main home page, all in the name of boosting their position in Google searches.
So, if you have two web-pages, be sure to link back to the one you really want people to see. It's also probably a smart thing to use your business URL in your e-mail signature, your forum signature and anywhere else you post online. It can only help move you closer to the top of the search engine results. It seems to me that there are already a few florists already doing it - multiple pages with only the locations changed. Very often, to locations where they don't even have a shop! It's lucrative to receive the orders online and forward them using a relay service and oh, what a can of worms that is!
There's an interesting interview with the owner of an American website called "FlowersFast" that raises some of the pros and cons of online marketing for florists. (Read here: catfight!)
Here's the link to the article: http://www.intuitive.com/blog/inside_the_ftd_florist_business_with_flowersfast.html
By way of a glossary, I believe FTD is an American relay service, like an Interflora equivalent.
Cheers,
Anna.
