1300 Send Flowers - Anybody heard of them? They are wanting $50 per month, per Postcode to send us customers (not orders, customer phones this mob and they are put thru to the florist). Seems a bit steep to me, considering we have to spend the time selling. Why don't customers just call florist's direct? Me, if I wanted something, anything, delivered on the other side of the country I would find the nearest store to where I wanted it. These order gatherers and the like are popping up all over the place now, all wanting a peice of our very small pie without doing much apart from having a website.

Seems like another of those, you do the work somebody else gets paid. I think that we, as florists, really need to look at our web pages. Why don't people call direct or order online. It is a marketing issue. As for the 1300 Send Flowers I have not herd of them yet!

I totally agree regarding looking at your own web page. A bit of self promotion never hurt anyone so making it as easy as possible for people to find your florists direct number can only help.

If you cannot afford or don't know how to start your own webpage, we recommend you add your "Florist" as a group to FlowerGoss: Flowergoss.com

It is an easy way to share information about your company, add photos and details in a couple of minutes while you work on your own site in the background. I'm happy to help people - helping the Floristry industry is after all why we established FlowerGoss. Sharing information and insight within a free to join community site.

Hi,
I received a flyer in the mail from 1300 sendflowers yesterday. My husband and I decided that $50 per month was too much for one postcode. We are with other companies that simply send us orders and we can have 25 postcodes. Steer clear I say.

Thanks Stephanie,
Thats pretty much what I had decided, but it's always good to get a second opinion.

1300 send flowers is owned and run by a flower auction in Brisbane.  They approached me a long time ago, but knowing of the way that they do business with growers and their own florist customers I decided not to go ahead.  They wanted almost $150 a month from me as my postcode is quiet large.  I could not justify the expense as I was sure that I would not recive all the orders for my post code as theyauction has florists who buy off them out here who would need to have their flowers delivered so why, if they already have a van coming this way would they send the order through to me.   I would be extremely careful.
