I think you are going to have a lot of trouble getting these flowers. November is the end of the season. I would suggest trying a florist in Queensland who may send them down to you! They fall off the trees up there.
I have sourced Frangipani's from Melbourne and Suburbs before. I am not sure if they still can get them but worth a try. Talk to Darren or Greg. Melbourne and Suburbs wholesalers are situated in Ferntree Gully. There phone number is 97522998. They also have a stand at the Flower market.
thanks heaps for al the help i really appriciate it
I have a friend who has them in her garden! She has the most beautiful frangipani's with large blooms! I used them in a wedding November last year! If they are still flowering November this year you are welcome to them! She's based in Geelong, so i dont know if that would be a problem? My number is 52486199 if you need :-)
I mananged to source frangipani this last March from a supplier located in Lara. He usually does roses, but he has just started growing frangis within the past few years. His name is Brent, and he's from Glorious Roses. (03) 5282 2406 or 0418 527 854.
PLUMERIA (ploo-mare-ree-yaa)
commonly known as Frangipani, Temple Flower, Pagoda Tree and Graveyard Tree
Botanical name Plumeria rubra (yellow or pink flowers)
Cut flower life span 7 days in a float bowl.
Wedding flower use:
Give Plumeria a drink before you wire them. Place them in a shallow container for an hour. They will harden up and pierce and mount is the wiring method. The yellow centres are the most popular, but do not underestimate the pink Frangipani.
This flower is only suited to fully wired bouquets, unless some complementary flowers need a water source and then the Frangipani would be wired with forked ends. Both ends would be inserted into a bouquet holder.
This is an excerpt from Greg Milner's new book "Fresh Cut Flowers" out in late October 2008. Hope this helps also.
